Crystals and Lace Necklace...making Christmas.

Christmas is around the corner and you are probably organizing or shopping for gifts. I usually start making my gifts right after the Holidays when big sales start. Although January and February are very busy months for me working on Spring and Summer projects, I find that these coldest months bring me lots of inspiration!

Crystals are very trendy today in clothing and jewelry. Because I have dear friends and family who live under the Equator and spend their Christmas in the Summer...in the sun, at the beach. I thought about making a few necklaces for my ladies to compliment their clothing.

Ice crystals and white lace would also nicely compliment our party dresses or tops here in the Winter. Today I am sharing my Pave Crystal and Lace Necklace tutorial with you. Let's make it together!

MATERIALS:

Tulip® Glam-It-Up!™ Iron-On Crystals™
the pack you need: 300 Clear pack contains (120) 3mm, (120) 4mm and (60) 5mm clear crystals
Tulip® Cordless Heat Setting Tool™
Aleene’s® Fabric Stiffener & Draping Liquid
Aleene’s® Fabric Fusion® Permanent Dry Cleanable Fabric Adhesive
Tulip® Fashion Glitter™ - Multi Ultra Fine Crystal
Lace floral piece {vintage would look lovely if you have one}
Satin White Ribbon
2 jump rings
Jewelry tools {chain nose pliers & flat nose pliers}
Scissors
Reamer
Ceramic tile or slate stone

INSTRUCTIONS:

1- Select your lace floral piece.
2 -Place your lace piece in a bowl and add Aleene’s® Fabric Stiffener & Draping Liquid using a brush until saturated with the liquid.

TIP: Usually when stiffening a piece of fabric the liquid gets poured right on to it. I rather brush it until saturated and control the amount of product I use to avoid any waste.

3- Right after sprinkle your lace piece with Tulip® Fashion Glitter™ - Multi Ultra Fine Crystal.

TIP: I used ultra fine glitter because I want it to blend with the texture of the lace and add a soft spark to it.

4- Let dry completely.
5- It's time to the Tulip® Glam-It-Up!™ Iron-On Crystals™ to your lace.
6- First you will calculate how many crystals you will need for your flowers.

TIP: Just place them on your flower by size and set them aside.

7- You will start adding the biggest ones to it working from the center of the lace piece out.
8- To attach them to it you will use the Tulip® Cordless Heat Setting Tool™.

9- It would be ideal to place your lace piece and work on a ceramic tile or slate stone.
10- You will be adding your crystals one by one, your took will need to rest your tool to cool off.
11- Once you attached all your crystals, it will be time to assemble the necklace.
12- Cut two equal parts of satin ribbon to make the ties.

TIP: This is a choker necklace and it looks best this way.

13- Using your reamer, pierce and place the one jump ring on each side of the lace piece.
14- Then using your jewelry pliers secure them well.
15- Pass one piece of satin ribbon through each of them.

Your necklace is ready! Wear it at a party, it's even beautiful for a bride to wear! It also makes a great gift.
