How to dress up your Gifts from the Kitchen. Re-purpose your glass bottles.

With the Holidays around the corner we are all busy gift wrapping and organizing our packages...some of us even looking for the perfect hiding place! When it comes to wrapping gifts from the kitchen, I like to re-purpose materials from the "same space". Wine bottles are great for homemade salad dressings, herb oils and vinegars. I do like to share my herb oils with loved ones...

As these type of gifts are kept in the kitchen and will be handled very often, I thought about dressing up my bottles in an elegant but simple way. I love to keep interesting materials I see at the most unexpected places for future use...like Styrofoam mesh sleeves! Cashiers at the supermarket put them on my jars to protect them. They are totally FREE! I really liked their look and decided to collect a few... I love combining them with embellishments that can be easily removed if necessary.
I want you to get inspired and dress up your own with me. Let's get to the tutorial!

MATERIALS:

Styrofoam mesh sleeves
Wine bottle {washed}
A piece of ribbon
A couple of flowers
A scrapbooking buckle or tag
Glue gun
Glue sticks
Sharp craft scissors

INSTRUCTIONS:

1- Wash your wine bottle and let dry completely.
2- Once your bottle is dry, pass your Styrofoam mesh sleeves through it and set it in the upper middle.
3- Using your craft scissors cut a piece or ribbon. Mine is about 6" but the length will entirely depend on your own taste.
4- Using your glue gun add a small drop of glue to the back of the neck of the wine bottle.
5- Fold your ribbon in half, find the middle section and glue it to it.
6- Using your glue gun add another small drop of glue to the front of the bottle right where you want the ribbon to cross.
6- Tie it around the the front and glue it to it.
7- Repeat the same step with the other piece of ribbon.
8- Using your glue gun add a small drop of glue right where the ribbon is crossed and glued and attach the scrapbooking buckle/tag.
9- Using your glue gun again add a small drop of glue to the scrapbooking buckle/tag and attach one flower at a time.
10- Let dry completely.
11- Using your craft scissors cut the tips of the ribbon in an angle for a more stylish look.

Your re-purposed wine bottle is nicely dress up for success!

TIP: If you want to keep the receiver anonymous without adding a tag to it, add a small removable sticker to the back of the buckle/tag with an initial. Nobody will look there!

I love this idea. Great look. And, I just happen to have some bottles that need dressing.
