Ledger Paper Scraps Flower Tutorial. A combination of petals and paper pleat pinwheels.

Remember when I mentioned on a prior post that I was organizing my studio? Well, it is true...it is also true that I don't seem to finish...I am back to school now taking two simultaneous courses...While sorting things out I couldn't resist making something with these pieces of Ledger paper!

This is a fun paper flower that combines a paper pleat pinwheel and petals. I love the 3D effect.
Let's get started! Ledger Paper Scraps Flower {Paper Pleat Pinwheel and Petals} Tutorial.

MATERIALS:

Ledger paper scraps
Decorative paper scraps
Craft Scissors
Craft Punch to cut circles {or draw your own}
Reamer
Pencil
Brads
Glue Gun and Glue Sticks

INSTRUCTIONS:

1- To make your pinwheel, please refer to my Paper Pleat Pinwheel Tutorial.
2- To make your petals, you need to draw them on your Ledger paper with a pencil using a template or freehand.

TIP: My flower has four petals, but you can make yours with more petals like the image below.

3- Using your craft scissors cut your flowers. I used six flowers with four petals for mine.
4- Curve your flower petal slightly using your pencil. This will give them a 3D appearance.
5- Place them all lined up together and using your reamer punch a hole in the center.
6- Make a small paper circle using your craft punch.
7- Punch a hole in the center using your reamer.
8- Place it on top of your lined up petals.
9- Pass your brad through the petals and paper circle.
10- Secure your brad at the back opening and flattening it.
11- Using your glue gun add a small drop of glue to the back.
12- Glue it to the center or your paper pleat pinwheel.
13-Press slightly with a finger on it for a moment to secure it.

Your flower is ready!

NOTE: You can also refer to my Crepe Paper Rosettes Tutorial or my Crepe Paper Dahlias Tutorial if you want to combine them to your flowers. Enjoy!

Not only is this much more fun than organizing or studying, it is much prettier, too.

Exciting news about your book release.♥

Hi Gabriela,
What a lovely tutorial. I love the idea of so many possibilities using all kinds of paper. Thank you for stopping by. While I was away I didn't have Internet access. My mom had eye surgery and I was there for a week.

Hope you have a great week, we're having another Blizzard tonight.

I had to laugh at the thought of organizing my studio. Each time I think I've done it, I've proven myself wrong. I just seem to relocate the mess. :)

Congrats on the book release!!
