Cute pink fairy ballerinas...in tutus! How to make cut out gift toppers.

Happy early Pink Saturday! Today I am sharing a couple of shots of some cute packages I designed for little girls. Cute pink fairy ballerinas...in tutus! I actually used left over paper I had in the studio. This is a very nice thin-metallic sheet ideal to make paper pleats. Did I say that I love the contrast of the blue and pink? Love it!

The amount of pleats of course depends on how much paper you have. I then sorted out some paper scraps and could not resist these pink fairy ballerinas. They are just too cute! Just cut them out with my sharp paper scissors.

I haven't done a tutorial for you for a long time...I know...I have been extremely busy but here we go with this brief one...

MATERIALS:

  1. To dress them up a little in 3D I used: glitter, glue gun, glue sticks, plastic butterfly and flower crystals...tulle pieces and some beads. Add them using a brush with a few drops of craft glue.
  2. Cut out pieces of tulle, fold and glue it to your fairy ballerinas tutu to add a 3D effect.
  3. I decided to bend the legs of one of them and attach her on the corner of the package using my glue gun.
  4. And then added the dancing one right besides. Love the playfulness of both together!
NOTE: There is a rule I always like to follow...if I find out that the little recipient has a sister I would then design a package for both of them as well. It's nice to share!

Let's head over to our host Beverly's blog "How Sweet the Sound" for more fabulous Pinkness! Thanks so much for visiting me today and have a wonderful weekend!

okay... I am so doing this. Are the ballerinas on cardstock to make them a bit stiff? Tell me more! And yes, I hope for sure to get together soon, if not, then in 2012.
