Handmade paper overdose...great for turning into wall art.

Gift wrapping is one of my most favorite things but I always end up with a total "paper overdose"...I really do. These are beautiful papers from many corners of the world that I have been collecting over the years. And of course it's very hard for me to let them go...

My studio is not the only room that is getting re-organized and re-decorated. The "decorating bug" really got into us and we have also been slowly {as time permits} painting the rest of the walls at home. It's been really fun to appreciate and re-discover what we already have.

Sometimes all you need is a little inspiration {Spring on its way is a good one!} re-position some furniture and move things around to end up with a completely different space.

Fresh painted walls call for new art work, don't they? And with this idea in mind I recently purchased a few canvas in different sizes {a super deal!} to decorate and design. The would be to do group compositions on the walls.

Looking at a blank canvas is really challenging...The Man suggested me to paint on them {haven't done it for so long} but to embark in such a project I would need time. But so far it won't be possible as I am extremely busy working on a few projects I need to complete.

My suggestion then was to decorate those canvas with some of my "paper overdose" resource and experiment with collages. I have all I need for this project: great selection of adhesives, sealers and scissors at the studio.

As you can see on the images above the experiment already started. It actually has turned into a pass time in between projects! So far I have been playing with colours, textures, combining and trying out layouts. Stay tuned for images of some finished canvas...hopefully soon!

Good morning Gabriela, Your art ideas sound awesome. Having your own art on your walls is inspiring. I love photography and have several of my flower photos on my walls.

You asked about the plant so I am filling you in. My hubs gave me this plant for Valentines Day from Amazon. When it arrived it was just a can that said water me. In about two weeks right on Valentines day A big bean sprouted barely and it said I love you. I posted it on PS for Valentines. I am just sharing it's growth. Amazing huh?
Have a happy Sunday.
