Coaster books are great to make mini-albums but they also make lovely mini-recipe albums ideal to give as gifts! This is an easy project to gather decorative paper scraps and embellishments you might have left from other projects. Combine them in fun backgrounds. Let's make it!
MATERIALS:
Craft Glue Dots®
Ultra-Thin Glue Dots®
Ultra-Thin Glue Dots®
Large Square Coaster Book from Maya Road {six pages on a chain}
Scrapbooking papers from Basic Grey
Old book sheets
Printed recipes, drawings, photos.
Craft brush
Cloth
Martha Stewart Edger Punch
Craft Scissors
Millinery flowers
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Remove the chain and separate your coaster book pages. Mine has six.
- Choose and gather your favorite scrapbooking papers and scraps.
- Layout backgrounds for your pages combining contrasting colours and textures.
- Mix paper scrap sizes to create an interesting composition.
- Glue paper scraps to coaster book pages using Ultra-Thin Glue Dots®.
- Turn it around and using your craft scissors neatly cut out paper scrap excess on the edges.
- Repeat step 5 and glue scrapbooking paper sheets to all your coaster book pages.
- Glue your smaller scrapbooking paper scraps to your coaster book pages backgrounds using Ultra-Thin Glue Dots®.
- Repeat step 6 on all your coaster book pages.
- Once your backgrounds are ready to decorate choose your embellishments.
- Using the Martha Stewart Edger Punch make paper ribbon out of old book sheets.
- Cut them out with your craft scissors and incorporate them into your coaster book pages.
- Look for recipes you might want to share with family and friends.
- Add your own food drawings and photos.
- Re-size them in your computer. Print them and cut them out.
- Decorate your coaster book pages with them. This is entirely up to you.
- Add a chipboard initial to the cover page of your coaster book using a few Craft Glue Dots®.
- Add a delicate bouquet of millinery flowers to it as well using a few Craft Glue Dots®.
- Once all your coaster book pages are decorated put the chain back to them.
It makes a lovely gift for family and friends! Share your favorite recipes with them.
